Background information about King James I: His thoughts about witchcraft: - King James I was profoundly known for his fear of witches and witchcraft. - He was so terrified that he advocated a book about witches (how to detect witches) - He also ordered the Pendle Witches to be executed and hanged, in August 1612. His thoughts about the regicidal intrigue: - Nov 5th, 1605, Guy Fawkes plotted to assassinate King James I (because the Roman Catholic group felt like their “catholism” has been taken away by King James) but failed. - After attempt of murder, King James was more aware and more alarmed with his surroundings. - King James I was very traumatized afterwards...
